Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Sunday best, but please wear comfortable walking shoes. The ceremony is on Roosevelt Island and we will be walking on a dirt path (see below). There is about 15 minutes of walking between the parking garage and the ceremony location and we care more about you being comfortable than anything else. We do not want anyone sweating and or miserable. Be comfortable!

Are gifts expected?

Nope. We do not need any more material things. The fact that our humans are here with us means more than anything else. We will have a registry for the big wedding on April 10th 2027.

Do I need to rent a car?

Nope. We have enough locals and cars to handle transportation. We will make sure everything is taken care of. If you are staying at the Crystal Gateway Marriott hotel, then everything you could need should be within a 5 minute walk.

Are there bathrooms on the island?

There are no bathrooms on the island but if you are one with nature, there are infinite private bushes.

Is there a ceremony rehearsal?

Nope. The Friday dinner might seem like a rehearsal dinner, but there is no rehearsal. This is a small civil ceremony with a weekend of activities to go with it.

What are our food options between activities?

Your hotel has food options if you want a quick snack or light breakfast. If you would like us to provide snacks, let us know in advance and we will create a snack pack for you. If you are with us and hungry, let us know and we will get you food.

Can I bring food or drinks to the ceremony?

No. Please do not bring any food or drinks to Theodore Roosevelt Island. We want to be respectful to the island policy of leave no trace. Brunch follows immediately after.

Will activities be indoors or outdoors?

A mix of both, but in general be prepared to do walking outside. This is why the dress code emphasizes comfort over style.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Yes, but we have a photographer so please enjoy the moment.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please let us know in advance and we will accommodate.
